A new year with a new design

I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Mine was good but busy, hence the lack of posts since mid-December. I had to cram in a lot of work before I left for 2 weeks of vacation around Christmas, and then of course there were the family gatherings to attend. I tried to fit in as much R&R time in that time, just playing games, watching movies, and reading. All in all, it was quite enjoyable.

As soon as I came back, I had to leave on a 3-day business trip to Toronto, which mostly consisted of boring meetings except for having dinner at the 360 revolving restaurant in the CN Tower. That was pretty awesome.

All of that aside, I’ve been working hard on the redesign of the Lair. Since it’s a new year, I thought this would be the perfect time to launch it. So I present to you…Lair version Umpteen.

Lair version Umpteen

It’s called that because frankly, I’ve redesigned this site so many times that I’ve lost count how many versions there have been. That name tells you all you need to know about how creative I can be.

I essentially coded the entire thing from scratch and made most, if not all, of the graphics. Which is why it was such a long process. I’m really proud of the background which is a Photoshop composition. The grumpy gargoyles just make me smile every time I see them. The title image may eventually be redone as I’m not completely happy with the way it turned out. There are other little tweaks and changes that still need to be made but they’re all small ones.

The idea behind the layout was that I wanted to be able to change up the background and title on a whim without having to redesign the entire theme. Because I like change sometimes but I don’t like work as much.

There is another new thing for the Lair this year…it’s finally on Facebook. I’ve only been holding off on that for how many years now? It’s nothing fancy, basically just a way to follow my posts without using an RSS reader. I’m not going to lie though…getting Likes would not be a bad thing. So don’t be afraid to click that button. 😉

Did you know that I’m also on Twitter?

/end shameless self promotion

More Wurm screenshots and posts will be coming soon as I’ve done quite a lot of work on the place during my holidays. And there’s still plenty to do yet.

Any comments, suggestions, or errors in the new theme? Let me know by leaving a comment!
